It is hard to believe that the strikes in Hong Kong have been persisting for 3 months now. Various news outlets have reported significant decrease in hotel occupancies, hotel staff were even forced to clear leave as demands have reached an all-time low. Violence and chaos are what people see when they are reminded of Hong Kong, and it saddens me that this seems to be the only news angle at the moment.
Looking through the photos depicting the current situation, I can’t help but compare them with mine and recall the great encounters on my previous trips to the city.
I sincerely hope for less violence and greater tolerance for one another.
